2. How much aggregate should I place?

  • The recommended aggregate for an SB-90 Liquid Asphalt surface is a typical 3/4″ (Type 106) road gravel with approximately 30% fines.
  • You will require a depth of no less than 2″ (50mm) over the entire area to be treated to obtain adequate coverage, and we recommend no more than 3″ (75mm) to avoid excessive rutting under heavy traffic.
  • This calculation is an approximation based on no existing surface aggregate.
